Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing works closely with the Port of Vancouver, annually welcoming thousands of guests on cruise ships to Vancouver. Our Supervisor of Port Operations is a key role that takes the lead on coordinating and facilitating our port operations team. This individual oversees all port responsibilities including guest service, luggage storage, document meet and greet and inter-departmental communication, ensuring superior operations at our Ground Transportation Desk within the cruise ship terminal. 

YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE :

  • Training and leading a team to operate the day-to-day port operation activities including connecting guests with their tour booked, luggage storage and/or document meet and greet 
  • Communicating + managing directly with cruise ships on Hop-On Hop-Off packages and pre-sold tours 
  • Communicating with Ceres and ground service representatives located within the cruise ship terminal 
  • Reconciling cruise Hop-On Hop-Off package tickets and settling documents with cruise representatives 
  • Lead on Luggage Storage program operations and logistics located in cruise ship terminal 
  • Providing meet and greet for charters and liaise for guest document pick-up 
  • Manage all inventory of cruise ship packages, port passes, translink passes and any other administrative documents 
  • Professionally addressing guest inquiries, requests & complaints to satisfaction 
  • Pro-actively dealing with operational deficiencies and resolving as necessary 
  • Completing reports, pre-sold data entry and any other reports required 
  • Working on cruise ship days throughout the cruise season 

WHAT WE WILL LIKE ABOUT YOU:

  • Outgoing personality, strong interpersonal + administrative skills with experiencing supervising a team 
  • You possess passion, integrity, adaptability with a professional and positive attitude  
  • Your ability to work in or outdoors. This job requires standing/walking for extended periods of time 
  • You possess strong administrative, problem solving, attention to detail, and time management skills  
  • You have familiarity with online booking engines.  Proficiency with credit card and cash transactions is an asset 
  • You have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs 
  • You possess strong knowledge of downtown Vancouver including key attractions and experiences  
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team  
  • You can work a flexible schedule and are available to work early mornings, weekends and holidays 
  • Previous tourism experience or knowledge of the industry is an asset
